Barbara Ristine writes historical, speculative, and contemporary fiction. Her passion is historical fiction because it allows her to explore and interpret the past for modern readers. Her short stories have appeared in may fine journals. Among her recent stories:
Block 16 Blues, about Prohibition, the Boulder Dam, and a shady lady in 1931 Las Vegas, appears in Kings River Life Magazine.
Besides her short fiction, Barbara has written THE FACE PAINTER, a historical novel set during the First World War, inspired by the artists working in the Tin Noses Shop who created prosthetic masks for disfigured soldiers. THE FACE PAINTER Coming in Fall 2027.
