I fell in love with writing as a child, but began my professional career as a trial attorney. Luckily, I escaped from the law years ago, and have no regrets. Although born and raised on Long Island, NY, northern Nevada has been my home for many years.
My stories include historical, speculative, and contemporary fiction, and have appeared in The Westchester Review, Literally Stories, Milk Candy Review, and many other fine journals. Check out my published work page for more information.
As an avid student of history, my particular interest is World War I, inspired by my grandfather's trench diary. I set my completed novel, THE FACE PAINTER, in wartime London. It follows an artist in the Tin Noses Shop as she creates masks for disfigured soldiers of the First World War. I am seeking representation for the novel.
I’m an active member of the Historical Novel Society, the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, Sisters in Crime, and SCBWI, as well as several local writers’ groups in northern Nevada and California.
I avoid reality by falling down research rabbit holes for my latest project, a mystery novel set in a divorce hotel in Reno, Nevada, in 1929.
When not writing, I enjoy camping and hiking in the Sierras, and traveling the world with my husband, seeking new stories.
